Fitness programs for independent living
I have been studying Tai Chi for nine plus years with Grandmaster Tom Sulick in Washington, NJ. A good portion of this study has been private one-on-one instruction with a focus on movement techniques.
My goal for learning Tai Chi was for fitness and flexibility training. Being a high strung person, I was also looking for a way to relax. During my practice of Chen and Yang styles, I found myself drawn deeper into the slow easy movements.
As a visual learner, I was able to quickly pick up the overall theory of body movement, balance techniques and concentration.
Throughout my life people have told me I should be teacher. Becoming increasingly comfortable with the slow, gentle and expressive flow of body movements, My desire to teach others began to build.
Developed as an ituitive teaching/learning style, my programs are not Tai Chi classes, or intended to teach Tai Chi forms.
I have created my program partially inspired by the style of movment. Some elements are borrowed and others re-imagined. Mixed in are various forms of exercise to create programs that enhance abilities to perform daily living activities.
The positive response I have recieved from those practicing my method of learning body movement has reinforced my desire to build my program.
Seniors especially benefit from easy to learn, gentle weight bearing exercises!
My methods fit well for those looking to reconnect with their bodies, become more flexible, increase their balance and overall range of motion. The programs are work well for those looking to regain mobility and are particularly good for seniors.
Classes are taking place at Awakening Point in Hackettstown NJ.

Plans for a DVD are in the works for my method of easy to learn and effective movements to get, and keep, people moving while reconnecting with their bodies.
