Regain and enhance your physical capabilities
Stan Cohen has created a unique method of teaching his system of movement exercises.
The movements, once learned, can be done anywhere, anytime with no equipment other than comfortable clothes. All that is needed willingness to improve physical and mental health through gentle repetitive movement of your body.
Practicing increases and enhances balance, leg strength, flexibility and coorodination. Due to the concentration needed to perform the movements, the system also works as a form of meditation and stress relief.
As an alternative to traditional exercise programs, Stan's program has proven itself to be effective.

Information on classes

This class is for a mixed age group and is geared to increase body awareness through movement. Benefits of this program include increased balance, smoothness of movement, coordination and overall basic flexibility.
The standing movements are low impact yet weight bearing. Combinded with gentle weight shifting, parpticipants build supporting muscle strengh and balance.
Coordinated movements work on timing, body position while particpants learn to feel their muscles shift through postition changes.
The only prerequisite for this class is the ability to remain standing for 45 minutes. The class is a great primer for Tai Chi forms study. Get in tune with your body with these slow, gentle and calming movements.

Private Seniors Programs for Assisted Living and Senior Centers:
Seniors Standing/Seated Program:
This program is geared for those 55 and above who have moderate mobility issues. Standing for some of the exercises is required to work on balance and leg strength.
Participants learn exercises to increase and enhance balance, range of motion, leg and core toning and breathing. The standing movements are low impact yet weight bearing. Combined with gentle weight shifting, participants build supporting muscle strength and balance.
Classes consist of learning movements, education on the purpose of the exercises and related applications.
Seniors Seated Program:
This program is geared for those 55 and above who are chair or wheelchair bound. (those with no mobility issues can use this class for upper body work)
Easy to learn, gentle exercise focuses upper body flexibility with a portion of the program geared to lower body stretch and flex movements
Classes consist of learning movements, education on the purpose of the exercises and related applications.
I am a resisdent here at Paragon. I must say, I look forward to Stan coming in every Thursday. He makes me feel so much better. Thank you so much Paragon Village for making it possible for Stan to be here.
